Caroline Sue Huey, age 75, of Webb City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 14, 2025.
Caroline was born on April 2, 1950, in Joplin, Missouri, to Durwood and Genevieve (Fields) McFarland. She grew up in Webb City, where she attended school and graduated from Webb City High School in 1968. Throughout her life, she carried with her a deep love for family, simple joys, and meaningful traditions.
In her early years, Caroline cherished time spent with her father, especially their trips to the store, as well as the close bond she shared with her siblings. She later built a career as a customer service agent with AT&T, where her kindness and dedication touched many.
Caroline found joy in the little things that made life special. She loved watching her favorite shows—Castle, Murder, She Wrote, and Walker, Texas Ranger—and had a true gift for creativity. Whether she was sewing clothing, crafting wreaths, or making ornaments, her hands were always busy creating something beautiful. She treasured holiday gatherings and the time spent surrounded by her family.
She also had a special love for finding a good deal, especially at garage sales. One of her favorite pastimes was going garage sale shopping with her sister, Sherry Taylor—time they both cherished together. Caroline would often come home with all kinds of treasures—rarely for herself, but thoughtfully chosen for others. Giving brought her joy, and she was always thinking of how she could brighten someone else’s day.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Caroline was a devoted participant in In Touch Ministries and found strength and comfort in reading her Bible. She spent countless hours journaling in her Bibles and on index cards, reflecting on scripture and preserving meaningful thoughts and prayers. She lived out her faith through quiet acts of generosity, giving whatever she could—whether it was financial support or personal belongings—to her church, children, and women in need. She was a quiet philanthropist whose kindness often went unseen but made a lasting impact.
Known for her generous heart, Caroline made everyone feel welcome. She was also an incredible cook, and nothing brought the family together quite like Thanksgiving, where her famous homemade noodles became a cherished tradition everyone looked forward to year after year.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents and her two siblings, Gary McFarland and Sherry Taylor.
She leaves behind a loving family who will carry on her legacy: her four children, Lisa Huey, Stephanie Nichols and husband Mike, Trisha Vasquez and husband Raul, and James Huey and wife Jeannette; along with 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one more on the way.
Caroline will be deeply missed, but her love, generosity, and unwavering faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
