A sample of Kailey's writing Entry #1 1st week of 8th grade August 31 "If I could talk to my pet.... I would tell them that love is a set of emotions and behaviors characterized by intimacy, passion, and commitment. It involves care, closeness, protectiveness, affection, and trust. Love can vary in intensity and can change over time. It is associated with a range of positive emotions including happiness, excitement, life satisfaction, and euphoria, but it can also result in negative emotions such as jealousy and stress. When it comes to love some people would say it is one of the most important human emotions. Yet despite being one of the most studied behaviors it is still the least understood. For example, researchers debate whether love is a biological or cultural phenomenon. Love is most likely influenced by both biology and cultural. Although hormones iand biology are important, the way we express and experience love is also influenced by our personal conceptions of love."
We dedicated this free library in honor of our daughter, Kailey, who is forever 14.
Kailey's family also has a Facebook page that is dedicated to her at "In memory of Kailey" where we hide and share Kailey ducks so her spirit can travel the world. Please check out her Facebook page and check her duck mailbox daily for new ducks!
Kailey was a big teddy bear with a heart full of love and laughter. She had a way of making everyone around her feel safe, welcome, and cared for. Her smile could light up a room, and her laugh was the kind that spread instantly to everyone nearby.
Family meant everything to Kailey. She fiercely loved her siblings and was deeply devoted to the people she cared about. Her kindness, loyalty, and protective spirit were just a few of the many things that made her so special.
Kailey loved stories, imagination, and sharing joy with others. It is our hope that this little library continues her legacy of kindness — a place where stories are shared, imaginations grow, and love is passed from one person to another.
Though her time with us was far too short, Kailey’s love and light continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever 14.
