Buddy aka the Fun Enforcer the party didn’t start till he arrived. He was a loving son, a brother who adored his sister and a hands on fun silly dad. He was a great hoopster a true Bears fan and made the best chicken wings around . He had many friends and was loyal and supportive of them. His laugh was contagious and made you want to join in.

Meeting in Jr. High @ Clark when the substitute teacher was taking roll call. She said Jaun Hernandez. Buddy goes here & giggles. She repeats, I say here low voice. The. Someone else says he’s not here. We laugh together and become BFFs shortly after. 2 knuckleheads being silly teenagers. Followed by sleepovers all time, basketball & chasing girls. Me n Ed’s & movies were the best as we enjoyed the dumbest funniest flicks. I still pop in CB4, Kingpin or Cheech n Chong once in a while and still crack up with him. With an awesome Family that pretty much took me in, it’s a beautiful thing. RobDog & I were his Brothers. Miss him all the time, but will never be forgotten.
That was exactly the very first memory that came to mind. The day he was born. Of course, we had no cell phones in those days. So I got the call when I got home from work. It was you Buddy, you probably don’t remember, you were on cloud nine. So happy. Your voice was filled with emotion. You had a son. A beautiful perfect baby boy. It was February, the closest most precious gift for Valentines Day. You know how to do it right.

When Buddy was born of course we were overwhelmed with excitement and joy , we were already blessed with our beautiful baby girl, now we had a son, perfect! The nurses came to take mijo to bathe him a few minutes after we’d met him, Buddy wouldn’t hand him over. He told the nurse that the bath could wait that he had to make phone calls to all of our family While he was holding mijo he walked next to me, as they pushed my gurney in my room holding mijo he unwrapped his blanket and was kissing him from head to toe , his mustache was covered with vernix (white stuff that covers babies bodies) it was a sight to see, true love nothing else mattered.
