Moments

As I approach a season of life that has afforded me the opportunity to look back on my life compared to the one I have given my children I am humbled at the fact that I think I have done the same as my Mother; I did the best I could with what I had. That's not to say I couldn't have done better. Lord knows I failed so many times. However, I can only think of one thing that could ever be a defining characteristic in my Mother and that was true grit! Those who knew her would agree. I wish she had a more gentle life, but that was not up to her. What do you call an artist that turns rock into glass. She was delt a hard hand and by grit alone she bore more than any Mother should have. I will be forever grateful for her choice to never quit or give up on me and my siblings. She was a flawed, broken woman who turned her rocks into precious glass. Thank you Momma, you will always be missed!
