Chastity “Chas” Ramona Britto Saliba was a 2nd generation Nuyorican, born on June 16th, 1976 in Brooklyn, NY to John D. "Charlie" Britto & Elizabeth "Liz" Britto of Puerto Rican descent.
Chastity grew up in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, with her sister Cherisse and her many cousins. She was always surrounded by family & friends and lived her life that way, always bringing everyone together for gatherings full of fun.
Chastity's presence was larger than life, when she entered a room, she radiated light & love; She had a big beautiful smile and her laugh was infectious. She was a kind, caring, loving, forgiving person, who everyone gravitated to.
She enjoyed cooking and baking for anyone & everyone. It brought her so much joy, when we raved over her delicious dishes. She was protective of her recipes, but that's how she made sure you'd look forward to the next time she made one of her amazing meals or delicious cheesecakes or flancochos.
Chastity looooved to dance, she and her sister-cousins Shawndesse & Monica discovered the club scene and together made magical memories dancing the night away on the dance floors of many NYC nightclubs. They shared much of their childhood together and loved eachother immensely.
Chastity and her mom moved to the East New York area of Brooklyn in the 90s. Where she attended Clara Barton High School.
She joined the youth community center at Starrett City, where she met her best friend Jennifer.
“Best friends and sisters for 33 years. We were always there for each other especially when we needed each other the most. We laughed together, went out dancing together, raised our kids together, and I witness the birth of her two beautiful sons. There was nothing that we wouldn’t do for one another, and there was so much more that we didn’t get to accomplish together. My sister from another mother, you are truly missed, but I see you in your boys, and your spirit lives on through them. I promise to never go too far, without having them near me.” Jenn
At the young age of 21 Chastity met Nader and a beautiful love story began. Chastity relocated from Brooklyn, NY to Hackensack, New Jersey and they began to build their life surrounded by their circle of friends who became family. They made a decade worth of memories, travelling, partying, and being there for one another through the experiences of young adult life.
On January 8th, 2010, Nader & Chastity became Mr & Mrs Saliba, so began their new journey as a family.
On July 23, 2010 their son Brandon was born, he was the answer to Chastity's prayers. She wanted to be a mom, she was ready for the next chapter, and what an amazing mom she was.
On October 19th, 2013, their son Mason was born. Another prayer answered, Chastity always wanted 2 children so they would grow up together and have eachothers back.
Mason was born with his mom's love of cooking, and she loved sharing her kitchen with him.
Chastity made every day of her children's lives a special event, filled with laughter, love and delicious food. They were her entire world and their happiness and well being was what mattered most to her.
Chastity was a people person, she had a big personality and enjoyed making people happy. She discovered her niche and became a Licensed Real Estate Agent in 2018 and worked for .Halo Realty.
In July 2022, Chastity at the advice of her cousin and niece requested an MRI of her brain, she was experiencing symptoms that were not common for her. The news was devastating, she had a tumor, it was malignant and she needed emergency surgery.
Chastity remained optimistic, she was the most positive person anyone knew. She smiled, laughed and fought for her life. She wanted to live, and even in the midst of her battle, she put on a brave face and put it in God's hands.
On September 28th, 2023, our beautiful Chastity transitioned to the spirit realm. The impact that her existence in this world had on her family, her friends and anyone she came into contact with was profound. She embodied love, light and joy and it permeated your soul upon contact.
She was preceded in death by her father John Britto (July 1990), her grandmother Mercedes Rodriguez (October 2013) her grandfather Felix Pizarro (November 2017) her Aunt Maria Pizarro (August 2021) and her sister Cherisse Britto-Guerra (January 2022) .
She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth; her husband, Nader; her sons Brandon & Mason; her in laws Leila & George, her brother in laws Washington (Wacho) & Basil; her aunts Migdalia (Millie), Persida, Helen & Evelyn; her uncles Felix (Duffy), Ramon (Junior) & Joe; her first cousins Shawndesse, Mia, Annie, Sara, Monica, Shyrene, Selena, Joey, Krystal, Lauren, Helene, Felix, Janine, Jeremy, Renée, Christopher & April and many nieces, nephews, 2nd & 3rd cousins, great aunts & uncles, extended family & friends who loved her very much.
She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
We love you Chassy, we thank you for being who you were in each of our lives and though we must go on, our lives will never be the same without you.

A Beautiful Soul
I had the honor of meeting Chastity thru one of my closest friends, her cousin Shawndesse many years ago, and I instantly fell in love with Chastity’s aura and personality. She had this undeniable love for family, friends and life in general. She was a beautiful soul that possessed a magnet for good vibes, laughter and happiness that could not be denied. It was an absolute privilege to have met her and be in her presence amongst the family. Chastity’s love and light will continue to envelop those she held close. My condolences go out to her entire family and friends. Rest in peace, beautiful. You are missed.
My cousin, my sister, my bff
My cousin Chastity was more of a sister and best friend to me than anything else. My day 1, she was by my side through many highs and many lows. Through one of the darkest moments of my life, she was there, holding me up, keeping me going and for that I am eternally grateful to her. I was blessed to have Chas in my life for 47 years. We grew up for many of those years under the same roof, and like sisters we shared many of the same memories. We had our disagreements (as sisters often do) but we loved eachother deeply and protected eachother fiercely. She was always a fun loving ray of sunshine. She had an enormous smile which I always called her "Joker Grin". She was the life of every party, even when there was nothing to celebrate, she just enjoyed celebrating life. When we were young ladies I introduced her to the NY club scene at Emerald City. We made so many memories there, and at other clubs as well! We were young and NY nightlife was magical! Chastity loooved to dance, just like her dad. I remember our sister-cousin Monica and I opening space in the middle of the dance floor so Chas can have her spotlight. Chastity was a shining star. When we got older, I hosted many cousin karaoke nights at my home in Lower Manhattan. Those were fun times. My children Taija and Justin always remember one night in particular when I sang "She's Like the Wind" and Chastity did interpretive dancing throughout the song, we laughed so much at Chastity's choreographed rendition to "she's like the wind through my trees"...She was hysterically animated. Every time we hear that song we are transported back to that night of Chastitys amazing dance to "She's like the wind". When Chas became a mom, wow, she was the best version of herself. I would always tell her how proud I was of the amazing mom she became. She loved her boys with every fiber of her being and to them she gave every good part of herself. She was the embodiment of love, forgiveness and joy and that is what she instilled in them. "Brandon and Mason, your mom is not gone, she is forever a part of you and everything you do, never forget that." "Nader, thank you for making my cousins fairytale her reality. As little girls there was a song we sang and a part of it is "first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Chassy with a baby carriage" my cousin always said that's how it will be for her and it was, you did that for her. She loved you very much and with you she lived a beautiful life. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for that." "To my Titi Liz, I am so sorry that you lost not one but both of your daughters in such a short span of time. I cannot imagine the pain you feel in your heart. Chastity loved you very much, she worried about you all the time and she did the best that she could do to be there for you and take care of you. You were her mom, and your well being was always important to her" Chastity, you're departure from this earth has been the hardest loss I have ever had, you know I've suffered loss but our bond was like no other. No one will ever be to me who you were in my life, you knew things that no one knew about me and I about you. Those things stay tucked away safely in my heart. You will be a part of us always. Taija, Justin, Liam, Mia, Julian and my mom your titi Millie & my dad Uncle Junior will never forget you baby, our hearts are so broken but we will love you forever and we will cherish every memory we have with you. Give Grandma Mercedes, Uncle Charlie and Cherisse a big hug from us. I know you are all together again. Fly high my proud Boricua Queen, let your light shine as bright as the brightest star. Best friend for 33 years!!
You were my ride or die. You were ready for any adventure we could think of! Our yearly Christmas train ride traditions were one to always remember! With our boys playing monkey in the middle with the conductors socks! Boy did we laugh at that! We knew it was time to start a new tradition, because our boys were getting too big and Hershey Park with the boys we went! I miss you, your forever best friend. Love you.
