Charles Patrick McKelvey
Do something in Your life that will last forever. Keep your heart full of dreams, fly high and let your spirit soar.
My dad was the son of Marion and Charles Mckelvey, his parents were married for 62 years. He was a brother to five siblings Dan, Joe, Tom, Gerald and Mary. He was a father to four children Janet, Charlie, Karen and Carolyn. He was a Grandfather to ten children and a proud great Grandfather to his first Grandchild Roman. He is an Angel GREAT Grandfather to the latest sweet edition Everly and another great grand that was born in October 2025 Ms. Hazel Mae. He would have loved being able to give her a big hug. He was a man of many talents, but even more heart. He spent part of his early career working at the Philadelphia Navy shipyard, and from there built a life defined by ambition, generosity, and joy. He was a successful land developer. He loved riding the tractor and farming. Dad was a restaurant owner, coin, collector and enjoyed riding in his Piper Seneca 2 airplane. He pursued his passions with energy and purpose. He owned and operated several businesses, including the Gold & Silver exchange, McKelvey excavation and the beloved double dip ice cream & sandwich shop and farm family restaurant in Neffs, Pa. He was a State Police Supervisor of Troop M Bethlehem Barracks for many years before retiring with a rank of Corporal. He was best known for his cheerful spirit and genuine kind heart. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome the kind of man he would do anything for you. He always had a smile, a story to tell and a movie to recommend. He was a shining bright light that will eternally flicker in our lives and be remembered always for his bold personality, warmth, generosity, and adventurous spirit. He lives on in everyone who knew and loved him.
