Life story

Herb was born on August 22, 1970 to Cecil and Viola Ward.

He was a little brother for Kim and within two years he became a big brother to Tony and Craig. Herb met and fell in love with Lorraine, at which time he gained a son in Jamie. Shortly after, they welcomed their second son, Marcus.

Herb spent several years fishing with his father and brothers, until an accident at sea left him unable to continue his fishing career. After a long road to recovery, Herb acquired and became the owner of "Wards Gas Bar". He worked at the gas bar until his injuries did not allow him to do so, but Herb still managed to visit the garage, enjoy chats and coffee with his customer or anyone who stopped by.

Herb was a friend to all, he had the biggest heart and would help anyone in need, even if it meant doing without himself. He loved his family to the fullest extent.

Lorraine, Jamie and Marcus were his whole world. He loved that Tanya, Jordan and Jena-Lee, along with their fur baby, Lily became a part of their family. Herb was the best puppy sitter to Lily, he spoiled her daily, took her for car rides and even rides on the lawnmower.

Herb had an abundance of love for his parents, his siblings, his in-laws and especially his nieces and nephews, he always made sure to remind each and every one on their visits with hugs and "I love you".

Herb has left a huge void that will never be filled, he has left us all with many precious memories, and as one lady whose life he saved commented, "I lost my hero", rest easy Herb, you'll always be our hero.
