Life story

Justin Ryan Krumbah, 38, of Pasco, Washington, passed away on February 7, 2022, after being shot and killed in the Fred Meyer, Richland, Washington, shootings. Justin was born on May 6, 1983 to Edward L. Krumbah and Karen Marie Jennings-Mullins in Walla Walla, Washington. Justin was a mechanic with no formal training. He used YouTube a lot and figured things out. He loved to bake and would share his goodies with family and friends alike! He loved mastering a cake mold and frosting it to look just like the picture. He made cookies, cakes and candy that were his Gramma Shirley Jennings' recipes passed down to him from his mom and shared those too! He loved watching football with his good neighbors, Seth & Erin Glossen, and was an avid SEAHAWKS fan! "GO HAWKS!!" Justin had a heart of GOLD and wore his "heart on his sleeve." He was passionate and took pride in everything he did. He gave it his all, even in things others could care less about. He finally found his "calling" in life when his good friend, Rich Startin, told him about Instacart. He took pride in being self-employed, working for himself by shopping for others and the comments he received back reflected that. He always went above and beyond what he really needed to do. He was EXTREMELY organized, which really helped in his job! Some might say he was a little OCD (which was a good thing!). He had dreams and goals and everyday he worked towards fulfilling those. He will DEFINITELY be missed, leaving a BIG hole in his large family! He is survived by his mother, Karen (Dave) Jennings-Mullins; father, Edward (Virginia) Krumbah.; brothers, Steven (Sara) Krumbah, Matthew (Shaela) Krumbah, Timothy (Christina) Krumbah; sisters, Krista (Mark) Schaaf, Rebekah (Corey) Kennedy; stepbrothers, Travis (Brandy) Mullins, Chad (Amanda) Grimes, Justin (Kelsie) Grimes; stepsister, Brandi (Ryan) Schouviller AND numerous nieces and nephews and aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Hugh and Shirley Jennings, and William and Gertrude Krumbah; uncle, Harlind L. Krumbah and aunt, Loy L. (Krumbah) Hahn.

You will be forever missed❤️

In the short time that I got to know you, you were such an amazing, strong, helpful, loving person. Every day I go to work, I think of you and wish you were still here. I remember a day you brought in homemade molasses cookies. They were the best cookies I have ever eaten. You always brought in sweet treats for us, but those ones definitely stick out. You will always be loved and missed. Love you, Krista and your family so much!!

We miss you.

We miss you Justin. Lots of amazing memories. You were the best neighbor. It’s like you had a radar in your head, if I popped the hood of my car then your head would pop out of your garage! Haha Seth enjoyed a lot of Seahawks games with you, hanging out next door while you baked, and home cooked meals. I loved making plates for you guys while you watched the Seahawks! We talk about you often and think of you all the time. 💙💚

Gone way too soon

Justin was the kindest, most sharing man with true love for his fellow man. He taught me how to do my job better, and not sweat the small stuff! I miss his smile!

SHAKE AND BAKE!!!

Man, I don't even know where to begin... I met Justin when I was about 13 when he moved to Ellensburg. We spent a lot of time together, church, scouting events, camping, cruising around in the hills, spent the whole summer of 2002 floating the yakima river, pretty sure we only missed 2 days the whole summer. We set up concerts together, met famous performers, raced each other any chance we could get, installed a ton of bumping stereos in many cars, broke a TON of rules and laws but seemed to always get away with it somehow... we delivered furniture together at Cramers Home Furnishings, fished and hung out with Nelson probably more than we should have, played pranks on many people. He loved my wife and kids and they all loved him just as much. We miss his baked goods and ice cream at all of their birthday parties! None of the parties are the same without their Uncle Smokey. He would drop anything at the drop of a dime to help someone in need. He had no problem coming to help me work on cars all night in my shop and bump some good ol' Snoop Dog or Dr. DRE. I miss you buddy, we all do, tremendously. We all think of you often. Life isn't fair not having you around, and I hope someday that you will get the justice deserved to you. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Love all you Krumbahs like family and always will. You're all good people. Miss ya pal.

We love you Justin

Justin was truly a force to be reckoned with. His positivity on a difficult day was enough to make anyone smile. He left this world too soon touching the lives of hundreds of people, and heaven truly gained one of the best people to be an angel. I know he is in heaven watching over the family and everyone he has ever cared for.

Our short time as friends…

I met Justin while working at the Richland Fred Meyer as a ClickList and produce associate. That guy was flying around the store like some bat out of hell lol he was always on a mission to make sure his customers were happy and the whole time he was in the store he was sassy and friendly, and he made an impact with whoever he talked to. The last couple days of talking to him, he seemed a little down in the dumps, which was super weird to me, considering how happy he always was. But I told him if you ever needed to chat, I was around. Later on, I found out through his Facebook that he was listening to one of my favorite bands, Falling In Reverse. As I look back on the last few moments with him, I wish that he was still alive so I could get to know him better. What’s crazy to me is that I got to know him much better in death. Not the way I would’ve wanted it but things happen when you lose somebody that you care about. Even now, two or so years later I miss that guy. If there’s a heaven, I hope he’s there and I see him one day.
