Life story

Craig Morris Trueman, a devoted husband, beloved brother, proud uncle, and loyal friend. Born in Oceanside, California, Craig lived a life defined by courage, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family, his country, and his passions.

Craig honorably served 10 years in the U.S. Navy, deploying to the Gulf War, Afghanistan, and Iraq. As an E5 Search and Rescue Swimmer and Door Gunner with the Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron, he earned numerous medals for his bravery and service. Whether in the skies or the sea, he was a protector—always watching over those in need.

Beyond his military career, Craig was a man of incredible discipline and strength. A black belt in Jujutsu and a professional bodybuilder, he approached every challenge with determination. His work as a construction foreman showcased his leadership, skill, and relentless work ethic.

Despite his tough exterior, Craig had a soft spot for the simple joys in life. He loved his dogs, and cats, anything Hawaiian, hummingbirds, koi fish, and had a deep appreciation for the arts, often expressing himself through drawing and playing guitar.

Craig is survived by his loving wife, Karen Lynn Trueman; his mother, Nina Cannon; his brother, Ronnie Kaopuiki; his sister, Regina Nieves; and his cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Morris Trueman. His memory will live on in their hearts and in the countless lives he touched.

Though Craig has left this world, his legacy of strength, loyalty, and love remains. May he rest in peace, forever watching over us like the guardian he always was.

Fair winds and following seas, Craig.
