Life story

Joyce was born in 1951 in Newark, NJ. She was the second of five children born to Howard and Audrey Pappert. Her siblings include Leland, Laurie, Karen, and Amy. She went on to have seven children of her own, as well as a stepson (who she called her own), and many grand children. Her children are Emil, Noah, Carol, Justin, Abby, Naomi, and Leah. Her son Matthew passed away at two days old. Joyce loved her family dearly.

Her favorite movie was a toss-up between Turner and Hooch, and Moonstruck. Although she rarely stayed awake long enough to make it through most movies.

She sang in the church choir and donated a lot of her time to people at church. She once learned ASL so that a deaf person in her church would have a friend.

She had a very close-knit group of friends who looked out for one another over the years.

She died at 53 due to a brain aneurysm, but not before putting up a fight in the hospital. She was an organ donor, and her heart fittingly went to a transplant surgeon in Oklahoma.
