Ethan was the first son, the first grandson, great-grandson, nephew and the best big brother. He was a joyous child, full of laughter, quirkiness, and kindness with great manners and a loving heart. He is loved so much by all that knew him, he is forever loved and missed and remembered for the remarkable and wonderful man he was.
I was 19 when he was born in Weisbaden, Germany. He sat in my lap for his first passport photo and we lived in a flat on the hills by the PX. We had a little red BMW where his car seat sat in the back seat. We walked to the babysitter every day and he was the brightest little boy toddling around. He had big blue eyes and full red lips and he was a happy baby. He met his Grandmother at 6 months old and adored her! Everyone loved him! He was sweet and funny and when we came to Houston his favorite song became "sorry ms. jackson" He loved Forrest Gump and Blue's Clues. He had lots of friends in daycare and we went everywhere together. It was always the two of us. We welcomed his sister, Elise in 2004 and he was so happy to have a sibling.
Growing up they made breakfast together and he looked out for his little sister. We had random dancing, singing and laughter in our home and lots of Nickelodeon and video games. He was responsible and kind, friendly and open-hearted with loads of smiles and lots of talent!
The summer before 5th grade he learned violin and played guitar hero like a champ! He traded in violin for clarinet but never took to band class. He tried JROTC but after a year, he wanted to skateboard! He grew his hair out in highschool and tooled around on his favorite skateboards, drawing and videogaming with friends.
By 18 he had two sisters and a brother who adored him and was taller than all of his peers. He remained steadfast and friendly, worked his first job at HEB and loved chatting with strangers.
Ethan is the very best son a mother could want for. His manners were impeccable, he loved good food and Whataburger, fancy restaurants and shoestring belts, math and motorcycles. He was the epitome of happiness, of determination and so full of dreams. He loved to make gains in the gym, spend time with friends and he was achieving his goals paving his way to a bright future. When a boy finds his path, he triumphs. Ethan was a remarkable man, his loss is the greatest pain I have ever known and his love was the greatest love I have ever been fortunate enough to receive.
There will never be a second he is not missed, loved and remembered. A greater son nor man exists than my beautiful boy.
Came to town and had to come see you since I haven’t stopped since your funeral. All the memories started flooding back, I’ll never forget your determination to achieve your goals and prove everyone who doubted you wrong, or that no matter how much you didn’t have you always gave to the next person, humility and what people thought was never a concern for you and I still try to follow you in that. We worked together a short time but I had never had a friend like you, never had someone helping to push me like you did even on the small things, never met someone who was able to change someone else mood no matter what they were going through or even someone who wanted to change someone else’s mood even if they weren’t that close. I’ll never forget going out for good sushi and after work, or all the silliness in the office, all the times scaring you, or even when you and a couple other woke up really early to help me move out of my apartment. You were such a good friend and soul to have around, I miss you deeply.
