Five Years Without You, A Lifetime Loving You
“Five years today. This photo is from 2/19/2023 when we gathered as a family to celebrate your memories and hold each other close. Our love for you only grows stronger. Never forgotten.”
“Being myself — unconditionally and unapologetically.” — Daykwon Semaj Meadows (DK Meadows)
Daykwon Semaj Meadows was a force from the very beginning. Born early at just 27 weeks on June 28, 1996, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and weighing only 2 pounds, 3½ ounces, he entered the world already showing the strength, resilience, and determination that would define his life.
A graduate of Boys’ Latin High School, Daykwon went on to study Media Enhancement and Game Design at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. He was known by many names: Peewee, DK, Kwon, Scootie, and Kwony, each one representing a different layer of his personality and the many ways he connected with people.
From a young age, Daykwon showed that he was truly one of a kind. After surviving a stroke at just five years old, he continued to move through life with courage and confidence. His first clearly spoken words, “Wu-Tang, Wu-Tang,” became an early glimpse into his originality, humor, and unapologetic self-expression. Wrestling quickly became a passion, and for every holiday or special occasion, his request never changed: a wrestling action figure and a ring.
A free spirit and natural daredevil, Daykwon never placed limits on himself. He pursued his dream of professional wrestling with determination, training with Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) under the name DK Meadows. In just three years, he earned the CZW Medal of Valor Championship, a powerful testament to his discipline, perseverance, and belief in himself.
Beyond the ring, Daykwon embraced life fully. He loved skateboarding, music, dancing, and playing the guitar. He brought energy into every space he entered and left a lasting impression through his boldness, creativity, and heart.
Today, Daykwon’s legacy continues through the love and vision of his parents, Carissa and Reginald Meadows. In his honor, they carry forward the DK Meadows Clothing Collection, using it as a platform to celebrate his life while also raising awareness around mental health. Through this work, Daykwon’s story continues to spark conversations, encourage openness, and inspire strength and healing in others.
His spirit lives on, in movement, in creativity, and in every life he touched.

Daykwon, Loved Beyond Words
The first time I saw Daykwon, he was so small. I remember thinking he looked like my little doll, perfect and real all at once. I would hear his cries at night and rush to get to him before my sister, his mother, could. From the very beginning, my heart was drawn to him. I tried to teach him his ABCs, sitting with patience and love, until we reached the letter "W". He would proudly call it “Wu-Tang,” and I would get so mad, even though now that memory makes me smile more than anything. That was Daykwon, my "Peewee," full of personality, confidence, and his own way of seeing the world. Daykwon, I miss you every single day. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you, feel your absence, or wish I could hear your voice again. In your passing, you taught me one of the greatest lessons of my life: the importance of showing up, speaking up, and fighting for those whose voices go unheard and who feel unseen. I carry your legacy forward by bringing awareness, by loving harder, and by standing for others the way I wish I could still stand beside you. Your life mattered. Your voice mattered. And your legacy will continue to live on through the love you gave and the change you continue to inspire. I love you forever and always, Aunt Yasmeen ❤️
