This Is Not Goodbye I did not want to leave you It was just my time to go I know your heart is breaking So, I need to let you know That although you can no longer see me I'll be forever by your side I promise time will numb the pain And help dry the tears you've cried You can reach me in your memories Just think of me, I will be there In your dreams, we can visit yesteryear Where we didn't have a care Please carry on and live your life I beg of you to try Just know we'll meet again one day As this is not goodbye
Life story

Colden James was born on January 7th, 1999, to Kathy Finney (MacPherson) and Joshua Clory. The first-born child of his parents and the first grandchild on both sides, he naturally captured and became the king of many waiting hearts.

Colden grew up alongside his brother and first best friend, Jagaer, exemplifying all that one would imagine living life as a little boy. In time, his family circle grew, and he was blessed with the love of his stepbrother Landon McLean, his stepsister Britney Clarke, his stepmother Candace Clory, and his stepfather Justin Finney — each of them holding a special place in his journey and carrying forward his memory with love.

In his younger years, he loved learning and practicing tricks on his skateboard, playing hockey, and enjoying many camping trips as well as beach and pool days with his family.

As Colden matured, so did his hobbies. He spent his free time as a teen riding quads, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, and boats. He grew proud to work alongside his family fishing, always expressing his preference for rough seas and navigating the challenges they were sure to bring. He loved the water, and if he wasn’t riding atop it, you could be sure to find him playfully jumping into it.

Colden had many friends, and those fortunate enough to know him closely always reference his ability to light up a room with his awesome sense of humor. His hearty laugh and the way it filled a room will not easily be forgotten.

At 22, Colden had the experience of his lifetime when his precious little girl was placed in his arms. Being a father to Harley Rose brought about a great sense of pride in Colden; the joy she brought to his life was immeasurable as his whole world grew to revolve around her. Though he was unable to fulfill his dreams for and with her while here on earth, let there be no doubt that he now sits front row in heaven cheering for her and all of those he held dear — laughing with us in our good times and holding us through our most difficult.
