Sandra Kay Padilla
Sandra Kay Padilla, 65, of Ault, Colorado, surrounded by her loving family, was given her angel wings on March 24th, 2025. She was born to Susan and Pete Alvarez on May 29th, 1959 in Greeley, Colorado. Sandra, affectionately known by her loved ones as Sandi, Ms. Bingo, or Panda Bear, attended Greeley Central High School. Sandi loved music, dancing, visiting gas stations, scratch tickets, casinos, tie dye, and smiley faces. Sandi was incredibly close with her siblings and no dance floor was safe when they were all together. Sandi was a loyal and devoted friend and loved her friends like they were her own family. Sandi loved going to buffets with her family and they were known to stay at Golden Corral, reminiscing and sharing stories for hours. More than anything, Sandi treasured having all of her family at her house to share meals, dance, listen to music, tell stories, and laugh.
In heaven, Sandi is reunited with her brother Pete, and her parents, Susan and Pete Alvarez.
She is survived by her sisters Julie, Mercy, Maria, and Teresa.
Sandi claimed to be rich- her riches being her beautiful family, which will keep her spirit alive. Sandi was a faithful wife to her husband of 23 years, Rob Padilla. She was a loving mother to her children Venus “Renee” (Domanick) Cervantes, Joe (Jc) (Melissa) Mascarenas, Samuel (Christy) Mascarenas, Christopher (Sarah) Mascarenas, and Steven Mascarenas. Sandi was also a caring stepmother to Stacy (Fonz) Garcia and Devonna (Brian) Padilla Cabrerra. She was lovingly known as 'Grandma Sandi' to her cherished grandchildren: Alissa, Isaiah, Jordan, Jeremiah, Alexandria, Giovanni, Alexis, Isaac, Cameran, Kira, Noah, Zoey (girl), Adomis, Camila, Allium, Kayden (Kaydenator), Zach, Aidenne, and Richie. In addition to her grandchildren, she was the proud great-grandmother to Kaylani, Malaya, Luka, Ariella, Mateo, Ezekiel, Edward, Angelina, Cristian, and Amelia. It was important to Sandi that ALL of her grandchildren and great grandchildren were mentioned.
Sandi found joy in the simplest of things—a bright sunny day, the beauty of nature, and, most of all, the love of her family. Much like the lyrics of her favorite song, 'What a Wonderful World,' she cherished the colors of the rainbow and the warmth of the people around her, reminding us all of the simple wonders in life. Her family was her greatest treasure, and her love for them knew no bounds.
It's a small world after all.
