Fight for those who cannot fight for themselves - Jack Fentz
Thank you for your service
Jack served in the armed forces. We honor that service here.
Jack H. Fentz, 71, passed away on Monday, September 22nd, 2014 in Franklin. He was a resident of Bargersville, Indiana. He was born on January 12th, 1943 in Indianapolis to Jacob and Pauline (Ballinger) Fentz. Jack had three children Jack Fentz, Jr.; Tommi Huber, and Amber Berninger. Collectively, they gave him nine grandchildren and now thirteen great-grandchildren, nine at the time of his passing. Jack had one brother, Ron Fentz. He was preceded in passing by his parents.
Jack was a 1961 graduate of Franklin High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He was with the 3rd Marine Division, stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was honorably discharged as a LCPL. in March, 1965. Jack retired in 1994 from Naval Avionics in Indianapolis. He then started his own construction company, Jack Fentz Builders, retiring a final time in 2008.
Jack was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. In his early years, he enjoyed fishing, horseback riding and camping. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling and socializing with his friends. By far, his greatest love was his family. He was a devoted father and papaw, above anything else!
As a part of his travels, Jack spent a few winters in Okeechobee, Florida, before moving there long term in October of 2012. He came back to Indiana to spend the summer of 2014 with his daughter, Amber, and her family. He stayed in Indiana for Amber's birthday, the day he began feeling ill. Pneumonia and sepsis took Jack's life just 11 short days later.
He lives forever in our hearts and is deeply missed.
