-Bio-
Alyssa Lynne Fischer was an angel on Earth before she ever earned her wings in Heaven. Beloved by many, she shared an especially close bond with her family: twin sister Autumn, and parents, Susan and Dan, as well as a tight-knit group of friends.
She had the most golden heart you could imagine, though those closest to Alyssa like to joke that she “loved animals and tolerated people”. Having set her stars on becoming a Veterinarian as a little girl, at 16, she was well on her way to accomplishing this lifelong dream. She excelled academically, worked hard to gain veterinary experience through shadowing and camps, and passionately pursued all opportunities possible to further her experience, both personally and professionally. Devastatingly, Alyssa’s career goal didn’t come to full fruition before her untimely passing. Nevertheless, her legacy continues to touch countless hearts, hands, and paws, in a multitude of beautiful ways.
Alyssa was a fierce, sassy, witty, courageous, dedicated, creative, talented, compassionate, intelligent, faithful, caring soul, who will forever be treasured by her loved ones and community at large. Her artwork and writing showed a depth of wisdom well beyond her years, and never failed to evoke appreciation for all the facets of life, from the ugly, to the extraordinary, and everything in between, in her audience. She was a force to be reckoned with on the soccer field, and enjoyed other sports as well. And in her free time, she also found joy in making music with her acoustic guitar and harmonious voice.
In her short 16 years of life, Alyssa felt both triumphs and traumas, but despite her darkest times, she chose to live every day to its fullest, relentlessly seeking beauty through it all, and making it her mission to show others the light shining through the cracks of our broken world.
We love our Alyssa, and we hope that now, having read about our precious angel, you do too!
