Life story

Lue Reeta Robertson Frew Neil was born to J L and Jennie Robertson on March 17, 1933 in Riverton, Idaho - near Blackfoot. She was the ninth of ten children born to the Robertson family. She was an active, cheerful child who made friends quickly and, often for life. She attended schools in the Blackfoot area, graduating from Snake River High School in 1951. After graduation, Mom attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City and then went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad, as a timekeeper, in Pocatello. While working at the UP she met Dean Frew, a mechanic. They married in December 1955 and had five children together before his untimely passing in 1971 of injuries sustained in an airplane crash. Lue Reeta remarried in 1973 to a wonderful man, Arthur Dale Neil, and they had one child together. Dale preceded her in death in 2016.

Lue Reeta was involved in many activities relating to her interests in self-reliance and family history. She was an active, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many callings in Primary, Choir and Relief Society. She and Dale served full-time missions to the Family History Center at Salt Lake City in 1990 and 1992, helping to introduce many to their roots and family identity. She loved this work as a lifelong passion.

Lue Reeta was a wonderful daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sibling, aunt, friend and follower of our Savior, Jesus Christ. She attended sporting events, marriages, baptisms, blessings, sealings, holidays, funerals and as many other life events as she could fit into her schedule. She LOVED family and was kind to everyone. She was an attentive mother to her children, though occasionally challenged by their stubbornness. She won every skirmish by being more stubborn than any child.

She is survived by her children Alan (Jan), Brian, Calvin (Charlotte), Delwin Robert (Penni), Evelyn (Larry) and Scott F Neil (Cindy). And Dale's children, who she cherished as her own, Glenn (Lawna), Bob (Crystal) and Carol (Jim). She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and two sisters.

Lue Reeta passed away peacefully at her home in Alpine, UT on February 1, 2024 having had a life well lived. Lue Reeta's viewing (9 - 10:30 am) and funeral (11 am) will be held February 17, 2024 at the LDS chapel, 4775 Hawthorne Road, Chubbuck, Idaho, under the direction of the Hawker Funeral Home of Blackfoot, Idaho.
