A Father’s Love: A Tribute to My Son

My son, my pride and joy, was a light that shone too brightly for this world. From the moment he entered my life, he brought with him a spark of curiosity, adventure, and boundless energy that made every day an unforgettable journey. He loved the simple things, the ones that made life feel full. He spent countless hours, controller in hand, immersed in Call of Duty. It wasn’t just a game—it was his battlefield, also our way of connecting, strategizing, and sharing endless laughs, through my military career. He had a passion for riding BMX, his wheels spinning through the streets, a blur of motion and freedom. The neighborhood was his playground, and he made every ride an adventure, showing me that life was about the journey, not the destination. Fishing trips were where we found our peace. Just us, the water, and the silence interrupted only by our laughter or the thrill of a catch. Those were moments of reflection, teaching me as much as I taught him. Grilling was his domain. I taught him the basics, but he turned it into an art. He built his own grilling setup with a Weber grill we gifted him, making every meal a masterpiece. He had a knack for turning a simple backyard into a place of celebration. Frisbee was another joy of ours, simple yet so full of life. Whether in the yard or at the park, the pure energy he brought to the game was infectious, reminding everyone around him of the importance of play. Music filled his soul and our home. He had an ear for rhythm, a heart for melody, and a knack for finding songs that captured the essence of a moment. Every tune he played or sang along to left a memory etched in time. He taught me so much about living in the moment, about cherishing the little things that make life beautiful. His time here was far too short, but the love, lessons, and memories he left behind will last forever. I miss him every day, but I hold tight to the laughter, the adventures, and the bond we shared. He wasn’t just my son; he was my best friend, my teacher, and my wonderful gift. Though he’s gone, he will always be with me—riding, playing, building, and laughing in the corners of my heart. Rest easy, my guy. I’ll carry your light with me always.
