To the BEST Dad a girl could ever have......

You were such a beam of light Dad. You had such an infectious laugh and your joke telling was always funnier than the punch line itself. You were an amazing guitarist and always knew how to have a good time. You were the most hard working man I ever knew and you would alway help anyone in need. You were kind hearted and loved animals, all great and small. Often adopting pets when you already had too many simply because you knew they would have a better life with you on the farm. That time you brought a baby emu home because you found it lost and alone, knowing it needed care. As a kid that was an amazing experience. Who can say they had a pet emu!!! The house boat you built that we lived on as kids for years will always be another wonderful memory. Spending quality time with you floating on the houseboat talking about life and staring into the sky are moments I'll cherish forever. You we such a great story teller. Talks about the deepest part of the ocean and the furthest planet in space. I was always fixated on every word. You were the coolest Poppy on the planet!!! Your grandkids adore you still to this day. Even though Skylah was only two when you left this earth she still asks about you and tells me she misses her "Poppy Merv". When ever we see a Willy wag tail it’s our reminder of you. Soon after you past a Willy wangtail flew down into the clothes line while I was hanging out washing. It was so close I could have reached out and touched it! It sat there for a while then flew away but in that moment I felt you with me. Just sitting there chilling next to me like you always did. I’ve had so many encounters since you left so I know your still here in spirit. I wish we could give spirits hugs….. Your friends adored you and your family loved you! You were simply awesome in every way. I have the best memories of you which I'll remember for the rest of my life. I'll miss you forever and always Dad. Love your daughter Gem XXX
