Life story

General Robbins was a remarkable individual whose life was marked by dedication, love, and a passion for both family and the outdoors. Born and raised in a close-knit community, he graduated from Bell County High School, where he distinguished himself as an outstanding basketball player. His athletic prowess led him to the University of Tennessee, where he played basketball for one year before transferring to Lincoln Memorial University, where he earned his degree in teaching.

Throughout his life, General was known not only for his skills on the court but also for his deep love for his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Brenda Hurst Robbins, and together they shared an incredible 61 years of marriage. Their union was blessed with five children: Gina, Marty Keith, Ethan, Devin, and Kimberly ( Earl Dean Roberts). General took great pride in being a father and later a grandfather to Lindsey Knuckles, Josh and Becky Knuckles, and a great-grandfather to Kayleigh, Nathaniel, and baby Kainen.

Outside of his family life, General had a profound appreciation for the great outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed spending time in nature and sharing these passions with his loved ones. His warmth and kindness extended to everyone he met; General loved people and built lasting relationships throughout his life.

General Robbins will be remembered not only for his achievements and adventures but also for the love and joy he brought into the lives of those around him. His legacy will continue to live on through his family and the countless memories they created together.
