Life story

My mom, Beatriz was a universal person. She lived her life to the fullest with a smile every day to keep her going. She became diagnosed with Lupus at a very young age and battled it her whole life. With that being said, the disease could not stop her from living to her fullest potential. She was a mother, a sister, a daughter and an aunt but most of all, a friend to many. Wherever she went, she left the room full of joy, with hearts full of love.

I never knew how many people my mom loved and how many loved her until the day came for us to say our good-byes. The one thing I will carry with me forever, is her will to keep going and trying to get better. I asked my mom if she was scared, when things got rough, and she said no. She was a fighter and anyone who knows her, knows she battled and kept battling, until the end.

I want to thank everyone for showing the tremendous amounts of love during her last days. My mom didn't go peacefully but she left us with her heart full of love and knowing all the support she received, kept her with us for a few more weeks. Thank you all. Ma, you are truly missed. We love you. -LIH

Happy Saturday ma

There’s day I want to call you, days I want to share my achievements and goals with you. Days I want to hear you complain about grandma and have the need to tell you to relax. I want you to be be proud of me and I’m striving to do so. It’s killing me that you’re not here. It doesn’t get easier because things are just different. I love you girl

Happy Mother’s Day

No one could have prepared me for the feelings I have with everything being a first without you this time around. No one could understand how I feel. I’m so sorry everyday that you’re gone. I’m sorry there wasn’t more that could be done. I’m fighting life as hard as you did and I hope I’m making you proud with every tear I drop with every gamble I make on life, trying to be something. I love you and miss you and I wish I would have said those words more when you were here. It’s so cliché. I hope you’re having a beautiful day.

Forever

Yesterday made 5 months of mami passing. Time isn’t fair nor is life. The promising part is that I know I can see you again one day. My mom lived her greatest life, even when sick. When she could, she’d do plenty of cool activities. We even went on a helicopter ride and she got to sit with the pilot! 🤎🤎 it was a surprise Mother’s Day gift for her and she was so excited. I can’t ever forget that day
