Matthew Mark Rose
Matthew (Matt) Mark Rose was born on September 23, 1977, to Karl Rose and Kelly Elwess in Ft. Lewis (Tacoma, WA). Matt was fascinated with shiny objects from the moment he saw a little green beetle in the Christmas tree farm behind his Grandmother's house. He learned to play the saxophone in the fifth grade and played through high school in the marching band and jazz band. In middle school he participated in wrestling and track.
By the time Matt entered high school his interest included football, which became his passion. He was quite the athlete. The boys would play catch with the football in the street and called themselves the 6th Ave Crew. Since Matt was in football and marching band, the games were quite interesting as he had to change during halftime to perform. After a few games, his coach told him to make a decision that it was either band or football and he chose football. His high school team won state in 1993. During the off season he ran track. Matt lettered in both track and football.
Matt went to Western Washington University and majored in Business. He also played football from his freshman to junior year. In his senior year, he started working for VoiceStream in the Call Center. After graduation, he moved down to the Corporate Headquarters and stayed for 17 years in Financial Accounting.
Matt met Becca, the love of his life at VoiceStream and they were married in 2004. He found a way to continue playing full contact flag football with his Bad Dogs crew. If he was not playing, he was always cheering others on.
He enjoyed working on his cars and ensuring they were flashy. He had very strong beliefs and would spend hours researching.
During the last three years, he found his career passion as a Customer Success Manager at Blackline. He was able to coach his son's flag football team this past spring and really enjoyed it. Matt had such a joyous spirit, contagious laughter, and unconditional love to his family and friends which will be forever remembered.
He is survived by his wife Becca, daughter Taylor, and son Asher.
