Memories at Makwa
Most of my puctures of Dom are from camping at Makwa. We still feel his presence there every time we go.
Dominic was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan on July 27, 2010 in the early morning. He is the youngest child and only son of Shayne and Alicia Gardeski. He has two older sisters: Natalie and Olivia.
Dominic’s early life was spent on the family farm near Major, Saskatchewan. He was loved immediately by his sisters and parents. Natalie was only 12 months and 4 days older than him and she was very curious of this new little person in her life. Olivia was 3 years and 8 months older and as his big sister she took interest in helping care for him. Dominic was lucky to have two big sisters to help
take care of him! The three of them did everything together. What one loved to do, they all did. Playing beenie boos, cars, trains, Lego, exploring the yard, puddle jumping, dancing, creating plays, etc etc. As the grew older, they all took an interest in quading, sledding, skiing (or snowboarding), and archery. Dominic and Olivia shared in Shayne’s love of fishing and hunting. Dominic, particularly, became Shayne’s little hunting and fishing buddy and accompanied his Dad on many elk hunting and fishing trips.
The Gardeski family moved to Luseland in June 2020. Dominic continued his love for sledding, fishing and hunting. He had big plans to go sledding in the mountains with his friends or even just sled around Luseland. Dominic loved to golf and would often go golfing with his Dad and Mom or his friends.
Dominic attended Luseland School where he was an active member of the school’s Student Representative Council. He was actively involved in sports. He liked to try many sports and had played baseball, volleyball, badminton, basketball, and curling. He had tried his hand at cross country, as well, but it was not his favourite.
Dominic will forever be remembered for his humour, kindness, and sense of right and wrong, and the love he gave freely.
Dominic is survived by his parents, Shayne and Alicia, his sisters, Olivia and Natalie, his grandparents, Barb, Vern, and Donna, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Words cannot express the absence he leaves behind.
We design every page from Dominic’s 37 photos. Make it yours, then order a copy for everyone who loved Dominic.

Terry Fox Run 2021
This is Dominic, Evan, and Wyeth at the Terry Fox Run in 2021. I took this when I worked for the radio station. I had some pictures of Dom at the pool but I can’t find them on my new phone. He was always the sweetest to the lifeguards and I always hoped that he would be a lifeguard one day because he was always so sweet to us. Happy birthday Dom💙
