Thinking of you today <3
In memory of those who left us too soon...We remember you in the morning, in the night, when we look at the stars, a song, a place, a smell, you are always with us.
John served in the armed forces. We honor that service here.
John T. Pinheiro, 20, of Waldeck Street, Dorchester was among 69 persons killed Wednesday in the crash of an Eastern Airlines DC 9 jet at Charlotte, N.C.
John was in the U.S. Navy, attached to the tender USS Yellowstone based in Charleston S.C. He was returning to Boston on orders to be reassigned to Connecticut. John's brother, Louis, 17, also attached to the Yellowstone, was planning to return to Boston with his brother, but John changed his plans the night before and took the earlier flight which crashed.
John was born in Portugal and came to this country with his parents when he was 7 years old. He attended Woodrow Wilson School in Dorchester and worked for Eastern Steel Rack co. in Dorchester before enlisting in the Navy two years ago.
Besides his brother Louis, he leaves his wife Sandra Charlene (Mackie); another brother Paul Pinheiro of Dorchester, a sister Helena Pinheiro of Pawtucket R.I., his mother Edna Pinheiro of Dorchester, and his grandmother, Mrs. Angela Mascarenhas.
We design every page from John’s 39 photos. Make it yours, then order a copy for everyone who loved John.
