““Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.”
Revelation 21:1-7 NIV
Life story
Lucy continues to be a light in the darkness. A reminder to us all that no matter how small, each and every person was created in the image of God. This tiny image bearer knew only love and warmth in her life. She listened to her mama sing to her, her papa tell her how proud he is of her, and her brother and sister whisper words of encouragement and strength to her. She left behind a heartbroken family, although they know they will see her again in Heaven. Lucy was precious and will forever be the reason this earth no longer feels like home to us. Our hearts have followed her to Heaven, and we look forward to the day we are reunited with her and our Savior, Jesus.

The year Lucille was born, a total solar eclipse crossed North America
You might sail across the sea
Set up camp beneath the trees
Or climb a mountain, spend your time
In heavenly surroundings watching down
And my heart keeps beating and I'm still dreaming of me and you
Me and you oh my heart keeps beating
And I'm still dreaming of you
Although you had to go
Set sail, move on, move on
Although you had to go
My heart keeps beating and I'm still dreaming of me and you
Me and you oh my heart keeps beating
And I'm still dreaming of you
And all those things we did
Still fill me up with butterflies
And I still flutter, I still shine
Whenever I remember your sweet smile
My heart keeps beating and I'm still dreaming of me and you
Me and you oh my heart keeps beating
And I'm still dreaming of you
Although you had to go
Set sail, move on, move on
Although you had to go
My heart keeps beating and I'm still dreaming of me and you
O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here,
Until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Dayspring, from on high,
And cheer us by Thy drawing nigh;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
Every time we visit our sweet girl’s grave, her big sister asks to spend some “sister time” with her alone. Isabel was still 4 when Lucy did and now she’s 6. Her heart aches for her sister. Big brother Gabriel reminded us tonight though “it’s happy though that Lucy is in heaven with God!”
Isabel loves and misses her little sister so much…
Tonight, Isabel asked to spend some time alone with Lucy. She needs that so much still. Isabel left her mosquito bracelet there because she thought it looked pretty with Lucy’s new flowers :) Isabel still cries for Lucy and mourns her baby sister so heavily. She loves coming to the cemetery to remember her sister and enjoys walks here in the evening.
You’ve spent a whole year in heaven while I have loved you, cried for you, and grown in my walk with Jesus because of you. Your legacy in my life has been one full of prayer. Thank you, Lucy, for teaching me how to bow on my knees before God.
I brought your cousins to bring flowers today. Walt liked the poms poms Isabel and Gabriel left. Rosie loved your tiny handprints. And Camilla couldn’t hang so she napped. We love you and miss you very much.
Today we are celebrating Lucy’s life in heaven with Jesus with chocolate birthday cake - her big sister Isabel’s idea. We have a fun family vacation planned that we are leaving for today in honor of our baby girl. One year with our little girl… Jesus, comfort us.
Today is her daddy’s birthday. Almost one year without her, but one year closer to Heaven… a place that gets sweeter everyday. Isabel, Gabriel, and I cut these roses from our garden and met Jason here today before his birthday celebration tonight.
