Roger Durham was born November 12, 1957, in Alexandria, La. and was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from his earthly home with his loving wife and family at his side. Roger grew up in Tioga and graduated from Tioga High School Class of 1976. He had a successful career serving as a lead maintenance man from Louisiana Industries for 20 years and Rinker Material Pipe Plant as head of the maintenance department for 18 years.
Roger had a deep affection for his family and was very close to his grandchildren. They all knew that he was always there for them and was a phone call away. Twenty-four years ago, he married Mary Hines Durham, with whom he shared a loving, beautiful life. His hobbies included riding his Softail Heritage motorcycle, restoring his ‘51 Chevy Pick-up, hanging out in his workshop, and fishing. He and Mary especially loved showing the pick-up in Classic Car shows and every October joined in “Cruising the Coast” in Biloxi, MS.
His quick wit and great sense of humor made him a friend to many. He was also known as a generous man willing to help everyone and never expected anything is return. He was the best husband, dad, grandpa, and friend who was loved and will be greatly missed.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Olsen Walter and Ivy Florence Durham and mother-in-law, Linda Garoutte.
Those left to cherish his love and memories include his precious wife, Mary Hines Durham; daughters, Keesha Hebert (Cobin Sr.) of Pineville, Megan Durham of Pineville, and Samantha Boney of Deville; sons, Jason Hazmuka of Deville and DJ Holden of Dallas, TX; brothers Walter Durham (Carolyn) of Centerton, AR and Jerald Durham of Tioga; 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; and father-in-law, Earl Hines of Pineville.
A special thank you to MD Anderson, Dr. Abi Rashad, and Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care.
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”” John 11:25-26
