"When winter's come and all the flowers are dying, If I am dead, as dead I well may be, You'll come and find the place where I am lying, And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me; And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me, And all my grave shall warmer, sweeter be, And you will bend and tell me that you love me, And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me!" -Danny Boy
My name is Victoria Worley, but I prefer Tori. I am that typical short girl with green eyes and glasses, but what I think separates me from other girls that have similar features as me, is my extremely wavy, out-of-control hair. Various people know me as their daughter, sister, or sister-in-law, and one sweet little puppy knows me as her master. Other people know me as the girl that’s up there leading worship. Some people say I am really good at keeping my calm and acting ‘cool’ but really I am super crazy and silly with the ones I love most. If someone were to want to know more about me, I would tell them a little about my past, who I am in the present, and who I hope to be in the future.
Crystal and Steve Worley brought me into this world on April 29th, 2001, At Orange Coast Hospital, Fountain Valley, California. I’ve been homeschooled my entire life, but I often wonder what it would be like if I attended Public school. I’ve had a lot of favorite memories, I can’t just choose one. I’ve been to New York City, Washington D.C, Philadelphia, and Florida. If I had to pick the state I have the best memories in, it would be Walt Disney World, Florida. I was able to go with my two cousins and their friend. It was very fun and memorable, I went in November so all of Disney world was decorated for Christmas, and it was very pretty with all the lights up. I consider myself quite musically talented, I started singing when I was 3, my parents recorded me singing “Twinkle Twinkle little star” and when I was 10, my brother Andrew bought me my first guitar, I begged my brother to teach me, but since he learned by himself, he thought I should do the same, by the time I was 13, I was determined to learn this instrument. Who knew 6 months later, I would be up in front of big group people leading worship?
Currently, I am in 9th grade, I love going to the beach but never go in the water, I am deathly afraid of the ocean, I prefer swimming pools. Some people have said once or twice that I am good at drawing, I don’t really think so. I’ve never been in any sports unless you count Ice skating, but I only did that for a year. Music is really where my heart lies. As I said in the previous paragraph, I consider myself quite musically talented, I play four instruments including singing, and I’ve tried countless other instruments including Violin, Drums, and the banjo. But none of them worked out!
My Ideas for the future are to finish high school and move on to college, I am not really sure of what I want to do with my life yet, but I have a few ideas. I have a big soft heart for animals, the ones who have no home, the ones who get abused, the dogs who have to suffer because they have an injury or the dogs who sit in the pound watching all the other younger, cuter dogs get adopted. Then there’s always that one dream that most teenage girls have, and that is being famous. But I have this dream not for the same reasons that other girls have, most girls just want to fame, the money, being in magazines, not me. I enjoy listening to music, when I am upset, or when I just want a fun song to dance to in my room, music puts me in a better mood, I want to be that person someone listens to when their upsets or, turn my songs up to full volume in the car. I want to be that one song that constantly plays on the radio everyday 5 times. Maybe I will end up famous and maybe I won’t. I would like people to think of me as funny, strong, enjoyable to be around kind of person. I do plan on getting married, although the idea of having children does not appeal to me whatsoever. Maybe my future husband and I will adopt a couple dogs that have nowhere else to go.
If someone one wanted to know me better, I would start by telling them about my past, what I am doing in the present, and what is yet to come. Green eyes and glasses doesn’t make me different from other people, it’s more of a person’s personality that makes someone stand out in a crowd. I’ve heard numerous people say I am very good at keeping my calm around people I’m not very comfortable with yet, but I am super crazy and fun with the ones I love most. Whatever I am to people, either that one loud, crazy girl, that lovable sister or simply the girl up there on Sunday leading worship, I will still be that short girl with glasses and wild hair.
