“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Rev.21:4
Life story
Andy was the best husband, father, son, and friend. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved his family and would do anything for them. He had a great sense of humor and a contagious smile. The world is less bright without him in it. He was definitely one of the good ones.
Where do we start? December 11, 1974, late evening, we were staying at Mamaw and Papaw Joe’s, I don’t know why. It’s getting close to midnight and I’m in labor and at the hospital getting ready to give birth. Just before midnight you are born.
You were not a demanding baby and your big brother quite often got all the attention. You grew to love animals of all kinds, dogs, chickens or whatever we had. You could be found sitting in the chicken coop with baby chicks almost every day.
One time you hacked up a big toy semi that you got at Christmas because “Row,Row” (David) told you to.
I remember how funny it was when you and David laid outside in your new camo thinking no one could see you because of your camouflage.
The big snowstorm had you working all day with your siblings to tunnel in the snow.
You and your siblings played together doing all kinds of dangerous things (jumping out of the hayloft, driving dangerously in the Willoughby Wagon over the farm, or the time we came upon you truck turned over in the road coming from Cynthia and you were nowhere around.
You took life as it came and as you grew to adulthood you found a perfect woman to share your life with. Together you built the perfect life and family. You were always wanting Dad and I to be close and you and he worked together on your farming adventures. You taught your children the same love of animals that you had. You worked hard to support your family.
In our eyes you will always be our little boy. We love and miss you son. You left behind a big hole in all our hearts ❤️
My Dear Brother,
It's hard to believe that you are no longer with us, your light extinguished far too soon. You were the heart and soul of our family, always bringing laughter and joy wherever you went. Your sense of humor was infectious, and your talents never ceased to amaze me. It’s been hard without you here. You wouldn’t believe what an incredible impact you left on this world.
You were always the one to lend a helping hand, using your many skills to make the lives of others easier. Whether it was fixing something or building something , you were always there with a smile on your face and a joke ready.
Your love for life was evident in everything you did. You never took yourself too seriously, always young at heart and ready for the next adventure. I will never forget you stealing the show at our reunion or in any situation when they opened the mic for Karaoke. It was always a blast, your voice filling the room with joy and laughter.
But it wasn't just your talent or humor that made you so special. It was your genuine love and care for those around you. You were always there for me, my first friend, one of my best friends, and confidant. Your pranks and jokes kept me on my toes, but your love and support never wavered.
I can’t say that I miss your dart throwing or the tab you helped me create drinking all of those Rottweilers on your birthday but I will forever miss your smile and your infectious laughter. I miss the light you brought into every room you entered.
You were more than just my brother, you were my rock, my friend. I will always cherish the memories we shared and hold you close in my heart.
I love you, my dear brother, and I will never forget the impact you had on my life and the lives of so many others. I will never be the Sister to you like the brother you have been to me, but I promise to always remember your family and do everything I can to help them in your place through anything they need me for. Rest in peace, knowing that you were truly loved and cherished by all who knew you.
Forever in my heart,
Your Sister,
Elizabeth
