Road Trip
A fabulous sports person, but an even more incredible friend. There are so many stories, adventures, and moments that come to mind when I think of you, but none stand out quite like our epic road trip down the West Coast of America. From the cliffs of Oregon where the sea lions sang to us, to the roaring power of the waterfalls at Shasta, and all the way to the sheer awe of standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon—every moment was pure magic because you were there. Driving through the winding coastal roads with the Pacific Ocean at our side, you were always full of energy, full of life. In every city, from Vegas' flashing lights to LA's laid-back vibe, your joy was contagious. I remember us laughing at the most random things, like the way we turned into “pros” at spotting the best roadside diners. Or how we got lost—more than once—but with you, it never mattered. It was always part of the adventure. But beyond the laughter, there was something special about the way you were always present. You made each stop, each conversation, each sunset feel like it was meant to be cherished. And even though I didn’t realize then how limited our time together would be, the memories we made on that journey and throughout our friendship will live forever. I carry them with me, always. Caina, you lived life with such heart and passion, both on and off the field. You made me see the beauty in small moments—whether it was the crashing waves or the bright lights of Vegas—and you showed me what it means to be a true friend. The world feels a little emptier without you here, but I know you’d want us all to keep going, keep living, and keep remembering the best of times. Thank you for everything. Thank you for being you.
Triathlon Queen
So many of us were introduced to triathlon events just by being friends with Caina. Every training or even she is right there cheering me on 💪🏻🩷
Tournament Days
So happy I got to share the field once more with Caina in our much later Gaelic days. 💚
Thank you Caina ❤️
Caina played an invaluable role in shaping Amity athletes and teams, imparting not only the skills of the game but also invaluable life lessons. Whether it was as the dynamic soccer coach who ignited team spirit and thankfully limited choc chip cookies as mid game snacks or the Triathlon coach who stood with a piece of cardboard and a marker counting each students completed bike lap (students were getting confused) … Caina you are so missed but we are forever grateful for the time we had with you.
An amazing woman
I can't think of a photo that embodies Caina more than this one. Caina was an amazing coach, who was truly passionate about encouraging kids in sport. She led by example and was such an inspiration. Caina was an incredible mentor for my daughter Mae, who saw in Caina what it was to be a woman in sports - strong, determined, fair and always supportive of everyone else. Caina, you made such a difference and you are so missed x
