Cody Robert Samuel Burrell

Cody Burrell, born on December 9, 1988, in Calgary, passed away on September 29, 2023, at the age of 34. It is with heavy hearts that we announce his passing.

Cody was a proud and devoted father to his son, Lucas, "his # 1" and will also be missed by Lucas' brother, Connor.

He was the dearly beloved son of Cindy Sorochan, and his late father, Dennis Burrell. He will be deeply missed by his sister Lauren Burrell and grandmother Shirley Jones, uncles Bruce (Evelyn), Murray, and John (Lisa) Sorochan, and paternal aunt Lynn Miller. He was predeceased by his Gido the late Samuel R. Sorochan.

Cody shared a special bond with his cousin Denver Sorochan, who was more a brother, and had cherished relationships with cousins: Julie, Elisa, Ian, Charlie Sorochan and Kirk Miller. He cared deeply for Josh, Matthew, Kamryn and their mother Christine Lerstol.

He is survived by his step-sister Candice Aldred, step-brother, Kyle Huffman and their families; as well as Jenn Storey (Lucas's mother).

Cody Burrell was an embodiment of compassion, kindness, and a heart that knew no bounds. His genuine love for others left a mark on all the lives he touched. Cody's ability to connect with people and his generosity of spirit made him a cherished friend to many.

A Funeral Service to Celebrate Cody's Life was held at Eden Brook Funeral Home and Cemetery on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. The family kindly requests that if desired, donations may be made directly to the charity of your choice in Cody's memory.
