Born August 15, 1957, in Springfield, she was the daughter of Don and Virginia (Herrin) Bowers. On October 22, 1983, she married her partner for life, Mike Cawley, who stood by her through every moment, adventure, and challenge, and he survives her.
Diedre was a proud member of Westside Christian Church and lived her faith through action, kindness, and unwavering support for her loved ones. Known for her fierce loyalty, she brought a unique energy to everything she touched, from crocheting masterpieces to casting her line out fishing. She had a special way of lighting up beach vacations, filling those moments with laughter, song, and a free spirit that was undeniable.
Her journey was one of strength, courage, and fierce dedication. Diedre’s legacy lives on through her husband Mike; her daughter, Lindsay (Nicholas) McCloughan; her son, Matt (Sabrina) Cawley; and her nine beloved grandchildren. She was a strong daughter to Don and Virginia Bowers, and a devoted sister to Mike (Esther) Bowers, Daniel (Donna) Bowers, and Rick (Arta) Bowers. Diedre is now reunited with her mother-in-law and father-in-law, her brother Steve Bowers, and those loved ones who’ve gone before her. She leaves behind a family who will forever honor her memory, finding strength in her example and keeping her fierce spirit alive.
