My first love

Axel was my first love, my first boyfriend, my best friend, and that is how I will always remember him. He had most beautiful smile that would light up your whole day. He had the most contagious laugh and when I close my eyes, I can still hear it. He was loyal, respectful, honest and loving. I felt safe and understood. He never gave me a reason to doubt him during our time together. We had a very healthy relationship. I can only remember him being mad once at me, after that, never again. It was so easy to speak with him and we had so much fun together. He was humble. Our first date was at Denny’s at 10pm. I’ll never forget how nervous I was to ask my dad for permission, especially at that time of night. He was very patient, as my parents were very strict. We laughed and ate breakfast that night; I loved every second of it. My favorite memory of us was the night that he asked me to be his girlfriend. We sneaked into a park, which was already closed after hours. There we sat on a bench looking over the Miami River. Specifically that night, there was a soccer game going on and as he asked me to be his girlfriend, fireworks began to pop. I recall saying, “Look those are for us” and he kissed me. This was the man I was supposed to marry. Axel was goal oriented; he wanted a family and a home, but mostly he loved serving his nation. My soldier❤️ He had a positive attitude for life, he loved his family. He had a light in his eyes. He was a rare man, beautiful inside and out. He has a very special place in my heart. I miss him every day. I think I’ll miss him forever, like the stars miss the sun in the morning sky.
