Life story
Annabelle was the life of the party.... the light that lit up any room she walked into. Daughter to Ramon and Priscilla and sister to Yessenia and Joseluis. She loved life. Annabelle was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at the age of 13. She underwent an aggressive chemo treatment of 7 months plus a limb saving surgery to remove the tumor in her knee but save her leg. She learned to walk again. After 1 yr free of cancer and full of hope, she relapsed. The cancer produced a tumor millimeters away from her spine. Almost leaving her paralyzed. A second round of aggressive chemo and radiation shrunk the tumor. From then on the cancer brought on tumor after tumor. A third round of chemo was offered. She refused and decided to live her life. And that she did. Trip to Brazil, Chile and then Japan. Outings with her cousins and trying new foods with her brother and sister. Always hoping for a miracle.... we were forced to prepare for the end. Annabelle was in full control of everything that had to do with end of life. She chose her clothing to be buried in and set out what she wanted at her viewing. She even decided where she would spend her last days. Annabelle took her last breath on that Saturday morning and broke so many hearts. She touched the lives of people old and young. She was not only loved but also admired and respected. She would love this Turning Hearts idea.
