A wonderful father, brother, grandfather, friend, and husband
Norberto “Bert” de Guzman passed away into the loving arms of God May 26th, 2020 at the Adventist Hospital in Shady Grove, Maryland -the same day he married our mother 43 years ago. He was virtually surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan De Guzman, and his four daughters, Maria Cristina (Jupiter Pastor), Maria Chanice (John Newcomer), Maria Carmela, Maria Charina (Banjo Enad) and their loving families. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren Francheska, Beatrice, Sebastian, Kayla, Cassandra, and Benjamin. He was born on March 22nd, 1957 in Cebu City, Philippines and migrated to the states 2004. He was a very successful businessman in Cebu working for his family's pharmaceutical business.
He got his second act here in America working at Walgreens and at BB&T Bank. He truly enjoyed helping others and spoiling his co workers.
More than anything, he loved spending time with his family. Papa was a very devoted husband and father. His love for his family was insurmountable and extraordinary. He doted on his grandkids. It did not matter what we were doing as long as we were together. He loved to sing, dance, listen to music, and cook wonderful breakfasts for his grandchildren. He was the kindest, most generous person we knew. He would give the shirt off his back for almost anyone. He always made sure everyone was fed first before himself. If you told him you love something, he will give you 20 of them every single time he sees you. No matter who you were he always wanted to make you feel like family. He was a very welcoming person to anyone he met. He will always be remembered for being a bright light in everyones lives.
You fought a good fight, Papi, you may have lost this one but you won the ultimate price of spending eternity in heaven.

We will truly miss and We love you!

- Cristina (Yengyeng); Chanice (Chanchan), Carmela (Camille) and Charina (Budique)
