Dorrit Elisabeth Solesbee Don’t just wish for it, work for it!
Dorrit Elisabeth Solesbee, born in Denmark 🇩🇰 came here to America to visit her brother when she was 19, she was going to stay for 6 months, we met shortly after she arrived at a church square dance, we both were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we met again waterskiing the next day with friends, and that night at a church dance I asked her if she would like to go to Magic Mountain with Me, she didn’t tell me at the time, but she didn’t know what Magic Mountain was, and she did say yes she would go. We had a great time at Magic Mountain stayed until they closed, did the long drive back home to my parents house who were vacationing in Hawaii, we sat in the Jacuzzi till 3 AM talking, and then I drove her home, no kiss at the door no holding hands during the day. I thought I would like to take her out again, and said goodbye and when I was walking away, she said to me, you can call me tomorrow if you want, I did call her tomorrow and we saw each other every day after that, we fell in love and got married before she had been in the country for six months. We had a beautiful marriage. we were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints, thinking back on our life together now I think that was the greatest day in my life was the marriage to Dorrit. She was a wonderful wife, companion, partner,
mother, grandmother, friend, lover everything you could want in a relationship, we raised four boys had a photography business she ran and enjoyed our life together with our family, we enjoyed doing everything together, we had a boat and enjoyed many vacations with the family camping on the shores of Lake Powell, Lake Mead, and Lake Mojave so many great memories with the family. Dorrit was very active and always on the move, hiking, biking, shopping, always ready for the next adventure, we were always and still are very active in our church and have a firm belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ. One of the blessings we enjoy is that of our marriage in the temple being for time and all eternity, and as her husband I look forward to when we meet again as husband and wife.
