The weekend we went to Santa Cruz just the two of us
We drove up to Santa Cruz and swam in the ocean. You were always so good at taking pictures. We ate and swam and hung out. That day I will always remember you having my back.
“It's a beautiful day, don't forget to soak in the sun and enjoy life sis“ - Baby giant
Phillip Jay Sourivong, who was tragically taken from us far too soon. At only 27 yrs old, Jay's journey was only beginning. After graduating high school, she was pursuing her dreams studying physiology at Fresno city college, and while the loss we feel is immeasurable, we must take this time to honor the vibrant spirit that she brought into all of our lives.
Jay embraced life passionately and taught us that authenticity is the path to true happiness. This bravery ignited a light in those around her, inspiring many to accept themselves and pursue their own happiness without fear.
Makeup and fashion were not just hobbies for Jay, but art forms. These were a medium through which she expressed her creativity and passion. They allowed her to transform herself into the persona where she felt most accepted and aligned with, bringing joy not only to herself but also to all who had the privilege of witnessing her artistry. Jay had an innate talent for makeup, turning faces into beautiful canvases, and sharing that joy with family and friends. Each brush stroke told a story, and through her creations, she helped others feel special and empowered.
Jay was surrounded by a loving family who cherished and supported her throughout her journey. She is survived by her five siblings Christy, Ann, Phonephai, Thickee, and Lina, and she was a wonderful aunt to seven nephews and niece whom she loved and adored. They provided her with strength and encouragement, and in return, Jay offered them boundless love and joy. She had a way of making each member of her family feel like the most important person in the world, showering them with affection and love. Jay was able to open her heart and mind to those who were willing.
We may never understand the circumstances of the fateful day jay was taken from us, but we must remember the joy she brought into our lives and the love we all shared with her. Let us carry Jay's spirit forward, striving to live with the same tenacity, authenticity, and compassion that defined her life. In our memories, let us celebrate her laughter, her creativity, and her unwavering love for those around her.
I hope we can all learn through the life of Phillip jay Souriyavong even someone that can shine just as bright as the stars may have struggles we thought we understood but couldn’t. For this reason, be sure to say hello to someone, take time for one another. We all need one another just as much as the next person.
As we bid farewell to Jay Sou-ri-ya-vhong let us honor her legacy by embracing our own identities, practicing kindness, and supporting one another in every possible way. In the end, though Jay is no longer with us, her memory will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of love, acceptance, and strength in the face of adversity.
Rest in peace, dear Jay. You will always be remembered and cherished as your spontaneous and authentic self. You are loved and you are dearly missed. Thank you for the light you brought into our lives. Rest in paradise Phillip Jay Souriyavong aka Jay Minaj aka Jay thee Barbieee we will miss you dearly and we love you ❤️
