Born on February 8, 2006, Emmy was the oldest of three siblings and a radiant light from the very beginning. She was diagnosed with Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T), a rare and life-long condition. At 13, she faced another challenge when she was diagnosed with leukemia. For nearly three years, Emmy fought with a strength and courage far beyond her years. Though her body grew tired, her spirit never did. A sophomore at Lewiston High School, Emmy was an adventurer, a warrior, and a giver of joy. She loved laughing, living fully, and giving everything she had to others. Emmy was her friend's biggest supporter, even when not feeling well she would come to games, cheer competitions and dance recitals. Her smile was contagious, her quick wit and sassiness made her one of a kind and her presence unforgettable. Emmy had a deep love for horses, her beloved doggies Sammy and Sage, the color pink, all kinds of music, and cheesecake. She could dominate a game of Clue, was a puzzle master, and could somehow win a game of War with her eyes closed. She adored roller coasters and the Pirate Ship, floating freely in the pool or at the beach, and blasting “Shut Up and Dance With Me” while showing off her best moves because yes, Emmy loved to boogie. In the winter, she loved building snowmen and making snow angels, and she screamed the loudest while sledding. She was a proud Special Olympian, and always up for a trip to the movie theater to catch the latest release. Emmy was surrounded by incredible friends who shared life’s milestones with her and treated her with genuine kindness, compassion, and tenderness. Emmy adored time with her friends and even through covid she found ways to make them laugh and smile. At home, Emmy treasured time with her siblings doing arts and crafts, playing endless board games, snuggling on the couch watching SpongeBob, playing dress-up, and taking long walks along nature trails. Whether it was seeing her at school, going on walks with her or just hanging out and laughing every moment with Emmy was unforgettable. Emmy was the best friend anyone could ever ask for, we miss you sweet girl. #Team Emmy.

Happy 20th birthday Emmy! It feels like just yesterday we were playing 4 square at recess and playing chase in the parking lot after our walks. Tommy’s place made the best memories like eating alligator, watching movies and trying to figure out who the puzzle piece thief was! I miss you so much sweet girl but I know you are with all of us, in the sunsets, the color pink and especially the butterflies. Thank you so much for the impact you made on each and every one of us. I hope you are up there with Sammy eating all the macarons you can while looking over us! I hope this page will continue to share how amazing you were Em. I love you and miss you so much! #TeamEmmy

Happy Birthday, Em! I will be forever grateful that I was one of the lucky people who not only got to know you but have you as such an amazing friend. You have the ability to light up any room, and that will never go away. I have so many memories with you that I will never forget, like spending lunches with you, laughing till tears rolled down our faces, being able to cheer you on while you kicked everyone's butts at the Special Olympics, and getting a kick out of it every time you would tease someone, topping it all off with sticking your tongue out at them. And these are just a few of the countless memories. I will never forget your strength because it has pushed me to become a stronger person. Watching you fight every battle thrown at you with the same determination is the most inspiring thing I have ever watched, and I can speak for us all when I say we are better people because of this. I know you are up in the stars, the sunsets, the rainbows, and especially the butterflies every day, watching over us all, and I hope with everything we are making you so proud. To my dearest M & M,
It was my honor and privilege to be able to have you in my life. I thought I was going to be the teacher, but it turned out, you taught me more than you’ll ever know. You were a light. You showed patience, perseverance & unconditional love. I miss you and I am so thankful for our time together. ❤️
Today, you would have been 20. We know you’re still laughing, still kicking butt, still showing up with that spark that made people feel lighter just being around you.
You were taken far too early but it never touched what mattered most….your kindness, your courage, your humor, and the way you made your friends feel seen. You lived with more strength in your short time than many do in a lifetime and you taught all of us….especially those who loved you…what resilience and grace really look like.
You are remembered today not for the years you didn’t get but for the love you gave, the memories you left behind, and the space you will always hold in our lives. You matter. You are missed. And you are loved…..always.
Happy 20th Em! 🤍
