Poem from Blain’s sister: ...............A lot of things have happened that would’ve never crossed my mind. But one thing that’s for sure is I have plenty of memories I'm able to find. It’s easy to think about how I won’t be in your future and you won’t be in mine. But today I want to reminisce and remember how you were a friend to me and more than just a blood-line. -I remember how you got bit by a dog to save me from getting attacked. -I remember whenever I got tired of walking you would carry me on your back. -I remember how you would always help me with my math homework. -I remember whenever you told a dad joke you would have this awkward smirk. -I remember when you would drive me to school every day. -I remember whenever it would snow you would drag me around the neighborhood in the sleigh. -I remember how you would always let me hang out with you and your friends. -I remember whenever we got in a fight you would buy me food to make amends. -I remember that your favorite color was viridian. -I remember when I wanted to be just like you, you were the center of my world like the prime meridian. -I remember how you loved dinosaurs and the movie Cars. -I remember when you tried to rap and said you had bars. -I remember when you would spend hours outside loading the tee for me. -I remember how you gave the best hugs, like being wrapped up by a big tree. -I remember how you would always give me advice. -I remember how you once told me life was like rolling a dice. -I remember when I would go to all your baseball games and tournaments. -I remember at Christmas you used to lift me up to help hang ornaments. -I remember when you told people I was a lesbian so they wouldn't hit on me. -I remember in elementary school you helped me study for the spelling bee. -I remember you would come home from practice smelling like dirt. -I remember you used to get mad at me because I would steal your sweatshirts. -I remember how you were the funniest person I knew. -I remember how your eyes were always so blue. -I remember waking up at 2 am to you singing Taylor Swift. -I remember as soon as I came into this world I was blessed with life's biggest gift. -I remember when I teared up at your graduation because I was so proud. -I remember how you could make everyone laugh even the most boring crowd. -I remember when you hit your first home-run and had the biggest smile on your face. -I remember how you taught me how to tie my shoelace. -I remember when you took me driving and said I stopped too early at stop signs like Noah did. -I remember you were like a second father to me even though you were just a kid. -I remember how you had the kindest soul and everyone loved you. -I remember how for years you looked after me and made sure I got through. While you might no longer be here physically, your soul will always be remembered for your affability I'm glad you found your tranquility, and for who I am today I give you all the credibility. -Callie Kurucz
