Life story

The Beautiful Story of Lisa Marie Meyer

Lisa Marie’s story started July 1, 1980, born the youngest child to Rocky & Cindy Burns. She was the baby of the family and soaked up that title as often as she could.

Lisa’s bright blue eyes and big smile caught the eyes of Jason Meyer in 2001. Lisa and Jason had a whirlwind romance and married April 5, 2003. On October 29, 2004, she became a mother to Wade Allen and on April 2, 2007 she brought her beautiful daughter Ali Reese into this world. Wade and Ali were Lisa’s pride and joy.

Lisa was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, granddaughter, cousin and friend. When you think of Lisa, you think of a beautiful bright smile, big blue eyes and a heart the size of Texas. Lisa is best described by those that knew her as a lady that loved fiercely, loved BIG, loved unconditionally, and that she loved everyone. Lisa was a kind hearted person who was known for making everyone feel at home and welcomed. Lisa would reach out to anyone in need and she never met a stranger.

Lisa Marie passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 19. Lisa is a lifelong resident of Beach City, TX.

Lisa is survived by her loving husband Jason Meyer, children, Wade and Ali, loving and supportive parents Rocky and Cindy Burns, Brother and Sister-in-law Heath and Cherie Burns, Sister and Brother-in-law, Laurie & Jody Bench, her bonus father in law Jack Hodges, niece Emma Burns, and nephews Eli, Gabe and Grant Burns, Hayden, Lane and Jaxon Bench, Grandparents Freddie and Lena Henning, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Lisa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Luke and Vinita Hoffpauir; grandpa James Earl Burns Sr.; father-in-law, Jack Meyer; Uncles Johnny Wade Henning and Johnny Foreman; cousin Brandi Burns; and bonus mother-in-law, Dianne Hodges.

Lisa was a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and catholic daughters.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Dagley, Chris Novak, Wes Hutter, Robert Zbranek, Danny Wilks, James Bohannon, and Gary Powers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Hues, and Clayton Fromme.

And Now these three remain; Faith, Hope and Love

But the greatest of these is Love,

Your light still shines Lisa Marie

I could allow the grief to bury me alive. Just let the loss of you crush whatever’s left of me. But you’re not a memory Lisa Marie, you’re a light still shining. Burning bright, and something I carry with me. When I speak of you, I do so without remorse. I beam with pride. I speak of your exuberance. I give them your energy. Dancing avant-garde, bold and beautiful. Where you went, sunshine followed. I tell them that you made life musical. Every smile, a song. Every laugh, a celebration. Lisa Marie your life, your light, changed me in the greatest of ways. All the love shared between us doesn’t cease simply because you’re not beside me. You’re within me, little sister. My skin and bones. My heart and soul. The air I breathe. The sun I stand beneath. You are all around. You every being made me, And that sort of light never fades. I'll take all the love we shared, and continue sharing it. I will keep your light bright, with every breath in me, until I no longer breathe, until I am next to you in your light again!!
