Sharon Gene Gordon
Sharon Gene Petersen was born in Spokane, WA on May 6, 1952 to Gene Floyd Petersen and Virginia Louise (Lee) Petersen. She had an older sister, Susan Gayle Petersen and a younger brother, Richard Wallace Petersen.
She graduated from North Central High School in 1970 and married Michael Clair Gordon, of Pasco, WA, on October 21, 1972. They lived in Milton Freewater, WA; American Falls, ID; Portland, OR; and Kennewick, WA throughout their marriage.
They had two children, Crystal Dawn and Brice Derek, who both graduated from Kamiakin HS in Kennewick, WA.
Sharon had a career in quality control with Kraft and Iowa Beef Packaging and later became the landscape/lawn manager at Canyon Lakes Golf Course into retirement.
Her children continued to live in the Tri Cities and Crystal (Crissie) married Jason H Woods in 2000 and provided Sharon and Mike with 2 grandchildren, Reese Clair (4/1/05) and Hunter Herbert (2/25/07). Sharon took GREAT pride in being a grandparent.
Brice never had children, but had Wendy West as a significant other that became very imbedded in the family fabric. She had four children, Taylor, Nolan, Jessy and Mason that Sharon considered her own grandchildren.
Mike and Sharon purchased a vacation home on Alta Lake Golf Course (Pateros, WA) in 2013 and this became Sharon's refuge and favorite place to spend time with life-long friends and family. It's where the most genuine memories were made during the late stage of her life.
She passed away from septic shock on March 8, 2024 in Kennewick, WA with Mike, Brice, Crissie, Jason, Reese, and Hunter by her side.
