Arbie Greene
BAKERSVILLE – Arbie Greene, 82, of 155 Church Road, died Saturday.
Born April 2, 1911, in Burke County, he was a son of the late Dock Greene and Eva Burleson Greene. He was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Texie Greene, and a son, Donald Greene.
Surviving are: two sons, Addy Greene and Arthur Greene, both of Bakersville; four daughters, Reva Willis of Bakersville, Cora Lee Hildebran of Connelly Springs, Josephine Sammons of Garner, and Lola Fletcher of Drexel; three sisters, Margie Greene of Spruce Pine, and Bertie English and Jane Wyatt, both of Marion; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bear Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Burl Presnell and Max Holland officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour before the funeral.
