Kristian Curtis Nuzum
Forever loved as a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Kristian Curtis Nuzum was born December 20, 1977 at St. Joseph, Mo to George and Jackie Nuzum and was baptized at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Onida, SD. He attended elementary school in Onida and graduated in 1996 from Sully Buttes High School. Kris was employed with Shepherd Harvesting before attending South Dakota State University in Brookings. He was currently employed at Virchow Farms near Lake Preston.
Kris married Stacy Marie Buer on September 10, 2005 at the United Church of Christ in Lake Preston and the couple lived on a farm near Erwin, SD.
Kris was a man who enjoyed and cherished the simple joys of life, whether it was in the kitchen sharing his passion of cooking with his wife and sons or enjoying camping with them. He treasured the "small moments" in life such as teaching his boys how to ride a bicycle, sledding with them in the winter, reading books with them or explaining to them what made things "tick". He also enjoyed farming, trucking and fishing. He found great joy in the moments he shared with his dogs, Duke, Raven, Belle and Jade.
He is survived by his wife, Stacy; three sons, Konner, Kannen and Kutler; his mother and stepfather, Jackie and Steve Shepherd of Onida; his father, George Nuzum of Sioux Falls; three brothers, Kyle, Shane and Caleb (Katie) all of Onida; a grandmother, Millie Nuzum of White Cloud, KS; his father and mother-in-law, Gary and Susan Buer of Lake Preston, one brother-in-law, Josh Buer of Lake Preston; one nephew, Tyson, one niece, Karsyn and a host of extended family and friends.
Kris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Judy Schall of Onida and Kenneth Nuzum of White Cloud.
