Delia M Ramirez
“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
Delia. An extraordinary devoted mother to her two children, Ivan and Janet.
Delia grew up in Mexico with her 5 sisters, 6 brothers and both parents. She moved to California when she was a young teenager (14yrs). She was a sweet and shy girl. At the age of 19, she met a man who would become her husband. They welcomed their first child in 1985 and their second in 1987. She became a stay at home mom. Delia was very family oriented and loved to host parties at her home. She loved to travel and go shopping. She definitely had a shoe fascination and a good sale at shopping stores could never be missed. She enjoyed vanilla ice cream and dark chocolate. She enjoyed watching movies on VHS and DVD’s. She decided to go back to school and get her G.E.D. She also went to school for cosmetology. She graduated her class and passed her state board test on her first try. What an accomplishment!!
After years of marital issues she had separated from her spouse and moved here to Georgia in 2005. Both her parents and most of her siblings lived here as well. She had family members surrounding her with love and support. She welcomed her new life and started over. Her children were now grown and for the first time in her life she was free and independent. She loved to go out and dance. She had this aura about her which in turn would attract people to her. She became a grandmother to two beautiful grand daughters. Delia was truly living her best life at her prime in her early 40’s.
At the young age of 45yrs old, Delia was not feeling her usual self. After a few tests, surgery and biopsy. She was unfortunately diagnosed with Malignant Peritoneal Mesothelioma (cancer). There was no cure and she began chemotherapy treatment to prolong her life. During this time her health was declining. After a full year of chemotherapy, she decided to stop treatment and accept hospice care at her home. She lived one month on hospice and then passed away on May 6, 2012 in her home, on her bed, surrounded by all the people that loved her. She was only 46yrs old.
Delia will never be forgotten. And will live on in our memories. From her curly/wavy hair to her soft fair skin. Always smiling and dancing.
Rest in peace my beautiful angel.
