Life story

John Patrick Marshall was born on October 24, 1977, in Pulaski, Virginia. He later made his home in Dahlonega, Georgia, where he raised his family. He died there on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the age of 43, surrounded by his wife and children.

John was a loving husband and, in the words of his children, a great daddy. He showed his commitment to his wife Kimberly and their children, Felicity, Kelsey and Cameron, by working hard to provide for them. He pushed his children to be good kids and coached them in baseball and basketball. He was a dedicated worker for Sullens Trucking. In his free time he loved to fish and to take a ride in his Ford Mustang.

John's love for the Lord Jesus and for his family gave him strength to face a difficult sickness. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Marie Marshall, and his sister, Kathy Hugett. He is missed most by his wife and children, his sisters and their husbands, his stepdad Keith Shepherd, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. His funeral was held at Mt. Olive Baptist Church on May 1, 2021, with the Rev. Chase Rylee officiating.
