Arnold Michael “Mike” Potter

Arnold Michael Potter was born on November 12, 1956 in Illinois, the son of Maurice Jones and Lena (Opperman). Mike was a very smart man in life and dedicated his working years as an Engineer in various fields. He spent a majority of time as an engineer with the Railroad. No matter what Mikes job title was he was always the man that everyone would come to with questions even when it wasn’t his area of expertise. Mike was a man that knew a little about a lot of things.

On July 5, 1997, Mike was united in marriage to the love of his life, Theresa (Shock) in Waterloo, Iowa. From this union, the couple were blessed with two daughters: Rebecca and Katelyn. Mike loved the life that he was blessed with and everyone that ever-crossed paths with him knew just how special of a man he was. Mike never knew a stranger and if he didn’t know you at first, it wouldn’t take long before you became friends. Mike enjoyed anything that had to do with being outdoors. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers and Iowa Hawkeyes fan, avid fisherman and loved hunting as well. The only thing that made Mike happier than being out doors was the quality time that was spent with his family making countless memories. Mike was a one-of-a-kind man and will be truly missed by all those that knew him.
