“I am just a NOBODY who wants to tell EVERYBODY about SOMEBODY who can change ANYBODY!
Life story
Marianne Grace (Mitchell) Silva of Wayne, New Jersey went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the age of 52. She was born to Daniel & Nancy Mitchell in Falls Church, Virginia.
Marianne attended Liberty University where she met the love of her life, Joseph Silva. Together, they raised three beautiful children, Holly, Ashley and Joey, instilling in them a love for God. As a “stay-at-home mom” she lovingly cared for her children, home, and many pets. Every day of their lives, Marianne supported, loved, and encouraged her husband and children, always offering a listening ear, a warm hug or leaving little notes to remind them how proud she was of them. Marianne always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family.
Marianne’s nickname, the “real life Disney Princess”, fit her well. Singing came naturally to her and she filled her home with this gift. Animals were drawn to Marianne’s kind spirit, and she was regularly called upon to take care of them. Joy could be seen through her gentle smile at all times. Generous with her time, resources, words, and prayers, Marianne would always go out of her way, whether for a stranger or a close friend. Marianne and Joe’s home was open to all. She loved to host gatherings where no one was a stranger and was especially known for her sweet treats.
Most important to Marianne, was her strong faith in the Lord. From her daily devotions to writing and taking notes in church, she strived to learn more about God’s Word and put it into practice in her own life. Throughout her days, Marianne inspired countless others to grow closer to Jesus.
Marianne will be remembered as a selfless, altruistic wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend through the good times and the difficult times. Her example has emboldened others to be more kind, generous, and to live a life devoted to Jesus. Although she will be dearly missed, we take comfort in knowing that Marianne is with her Lord and Savior.
Marianne is predeceased by her father-in-law, Joseph Silva. She is survived by her husband of nearly 29 years, Joseph Anthony Silva of Wayne, NJ, by two daughters; Holly & Ashley, by a son Joey, by her parents Rev. Dr. Daniel Mitchell & wife Nancy (Bowers) of Lynchburg, VA, by two sisters; Martha Brown & husband Craig of Forest, VA and Melanie Acoff & husband Tim of Lynchburg, VA, by a brother Daniel Mitchell & wife Michelle of Lynchburg, VA, by her mother-in-law Joan Silva of Pompton Plains, NJ by her dear in-laws Jo Ann & Les Wilson of Pompton Plains, NJ & John & Michele Silva of Pompton Plains, NJ and by many nieces and nephews.
