We little knew that morning God was to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone. For part of us went with you the day god called you home. You left us Beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at out side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but god calls us one by one, The chain will link again.
On January 5, 2024 one day after my birthday and one day before my sisters 18th birthday, I woke up to the doorbell and knocking on the door. I woke my grandma, my brother and my boyfriend up we go to the door and it's a man. He asked if my sister lived here " does Anahi live here she works at little caesars " I answered yes. As soon as I said yes I wished I didn't have to received that news. " your sisters been in an accident and she passed" were his exact words. My heart dropped I keep telling myself it's not true it's not true I woke everyone up and my mom rushed to the police station to receive the news and to be confirmed. That day my dad woke graveyard he got home at 7 am and when he walked in he instantly knew his heart begin to failed and he passed out he has a condition in his heart and now requires a pacemaker. The news impacted all of us we never expected this to happen to us especially that we were about to celebrate our birthdays together on Saturday her actual birthday. News started spreading instantly and we began to see how her car ended up, what happened, and who did it. We could not believed that in hours of us finding out we would see everything we would find out that hours after the crash he was out on bond that same day. He still got off his truck and left evidence behind. He left my sister there without calling for help. Saturday January 6 me and my parents were choosing her coffin what type of flowers and where she was gonna be put to rest, On her actual birthday!!!! NO ONE SHOULD BE DOING THAT !!! especially from a drunk driver causing all this and him being out free. My sister was the youngest out of three she was the baby My sister had her whole life ahead of herself she wanted to enjoy her life live her life, but it was taken by an unresponisble teenager that he didn't even have the age to be drinking. My sister was a Senior at Parkland High School here in El Paso TX. She was about to graduate with her high school diploma and her associates at the same time something she won't be able to receive herself. She played softball for her school she will miss her senior night. She will not attend prom either. My sister My best friend my right hand is not here with us no more. I had asked her to be my daughter's godmother she was so happy and I knew I didn't make a mistake choosing her because she was great and loved her so much, But now my daughter will not grow up to meet her but she will always know who her Nina is and her name is not gonna be forgotten. She always had a smile on her face she always was laughing or making us laugh. there was not one day that went by she was not laughing. She loved her makeup she always had to look presentable she always had to win in argument. She wanted to become a lawyer after she graduated high school. She would have been a great lawyer. She left behind her "child" Snowball her white small dog that dog meant everything to her it was her baby. There is not enough words that can explain how bright how humble how amazing my sister was she was loved by so many. If you ask anyone no one will tell you a bad time with her no one will tell you she was a bad kid. writing this is so hard but I know that I have to fight for her the same way she always will win an argument I have to win this battle for her I need to have the last word. Justice has to done for her Justice need to be done for everyone that has been a victim
