She sure had her hands full.

Single mom, not by choice. One, two, three of us.

It wasn’t always pretty but she “showed up” every single day. The good, bad, and ugly….she was there.

She was “not our friend,” at least not back then. I would have lost the bet back then if anyone would have told me we would grow to be the best of friends. We did.

She was strict. She didn’t let us get away with anything; had eyes in the back of her head, seriously. She held us accountable and raised us to be able to stand on our own two feet.

I didn’t like it back then, didn’t get it. Thought she was mean.

Boy was I wrong; funny how the older I got the smarter she got.

I get it now, mom, I get it now.

In today’s world we need more moms like Sandy Dorer.

If you are lucky to still have your mom on this side “show up” for her like she always did for you.
