Our boy
Dakoda became one of my sons August 8, 2008 when I married his dad. He was 8 at the time but I’ve been in his life since he was born. Koda has always been the funniest person. He could make you laugh even on your darkest days with some of the things he said. You never knew what would come out of his mouth. Little Koda was a feisty little thing. When he would get mad, he would puff up like a little bulldog. To us, it was too cute. His younger days, he was obsessed with football. Football was life and he was good at it. If he put his mind to it, he put his heart into it and excelled at it. That’s true for his whole life. Our Koda had no problems letting you know how he felt about you and Koda LOVED his family. So much so that he had all of our birthdays tattooed on his forearm. For me personally, that meant the world. There was never a dull moment with Koda around. When our part of the family was together, he would almost always initiate an arm wrestling match or wrestling in the yard. He would take on anybody but his dad. 😂 He would say he’s no match for that old man strength. Koda had THE BEST hugs! He squeezed so tight and held on for so long. I miss those hugs so much. Another thing I miss is his infectious laugh. No matter what the situation, he could make you laugh. And man, they were genuine and full! And his smile. Oh boy that smile! I’m sorry to anyone that never got to see it because it was the best. Koda was just awesome. There’s so many ways to describe him but awesome seems to be the best. Koda is missed and loved more than he could have ever imagined. I am so grateful for the 14 years I got to spend as his bonus mom. It wasn’t always easy but I wouldn’t trade one single second or memory for anything. I’ll forever be thankful to his mom and dad for letting me share his beautiful life with them. 💜
