Cali Allyse Hawkins

Cali wants me to let everyone know that it was not painful, and that she is having an absolute blast in Heaven.

I woke up that morning with the immense prompting to treat it as if it were her last day on earth. I’m so glad I listened. We seriously had the perfect day and did everything she wanted to do. We went to the “dishwasher” (aka the car wash), I bought her some treats at Costco that I don’t normally buy, we played with puzzles, play dough, hide n seek, had lots of snuggles, and I dragged them across the floor on a blanket for probably an hour straight because they kept asking for more 😅 She kept saying “Mom. I love you. I know you love me too. Today is the best day ever!” As if she knew she would soon be going home to Jesus. 🤍

Later that day, God called her home. She passed away in a tragic at-home accident. But I truly believe for her, it felt like she just took a peaceful nap and Jesus woke her up. We don’t believe God allowed her to suffer or feel any pain. I found her unresponsive, performed CPR until EMTs got here, and we had the best team working on her. Multiple of the officers working on her had lost children of their own. Shortly after, it was confirmed, she was gone.
